MAC mail 2024

  1. Open Mail Application:

    • Click on the Mail icon in the Dock to open the Mail application.
  2. Open Mail Preferences:

    • In the top menu bar, click on "Mail" and then select "Settings" or "Preferences" (the exact wording might vary).
  3. Go to Accounts Tab:

    • In the Preferences window, click on the "Accounts" tab.
  4. Select the Email Account:

    • In the left-hand column, select the email account you want to configure.
  5. Edit SMTP Server List:

    • In the right-hand pane, find the section labeled "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)".
    • Click on the dropdown menu and select "Edit SMTP Server List".
  6. Add or Edit SMTP Server:

    • In the new window that appears, you will see a list of existing SMTP servers.
    • To add a new SMTP server, click the "+" button at the bottom.
    • To edit an existing server, select it from the list.
  7. Enter Server Information:

    • Description: Enter a name for the server (optional).
    • Server Name: Enter the address of your SMTP server: mail.mysmtp.com
  8. Authentication Settings:

    • Click on the "Advanced" tab.
    • Ensure "Use default ports 587, 25" is selected, or enter the port number provided by your email provider.
    • Select TLS
    • Under "Authentication", select "Password".
    • Enter your User Name (usually your full email address) and Password.
  9. Save and Apply:

    • Click "OK" to save the SMTP server settings.
    • Close the SMTP Server List window.
  10. Confirm Settings:

    • Ensure the newly added or edited SMTP server is selected in the dropdown menu for "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)".
    • Close the Preferences window by clicking the red close button in the upper-left corner.
  11. Test Configuration:

    • Send a test email to verify that your outgoing mail server settings are correct and that emails are being sent properly.

If you follow these steps, you should have your outgoing SMTP server correctly configured in Mac Mail (2024). If you encounter any issues, double-check the server settings with your email provider to ensure all details are correct.
